Mayor supports Busselton 7 storey mixed use development

On 16 August 2016,  the City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley was interviewed on south-west am radio in response to Busselton-Dunsborough Times newspaper article published on Friday 12 August 2016 and then re-posted on the Busselton Dunsborough Times website.

Mayor Grant Henley offered his support to the Threadgold Architecture Pty Ltd proposal for a 7 storey mixed use development along Duchess Street, Busselton which is sited within the proposed Mixed Use Zone R-AC3.

The local south-west am radio station interviewed the City of Busselton Mayor, Grant Henley to query the proposed planning changes to the City of Busselton Local Planning Scheme No. 21 (described as amendment one), after the newspaper article was published by the Busselton-Dunsborough Times. The Busselton-Dunsborough Times article, written by Taelor Pelusey, was a response to the Threadgold Architecture blog article originally published on 1 August 2016. Ms Pelusey interviewed Architect Stuart Threadgold a week after the publishing of the blog article on the anticipated changes to the building fabric within the Busselton central business district.

The Threadgold Architecture Pty Ltd proposal for a 7 storey mixed use development located on Duchess Street and within the proposed Mixed Use Zone R-AC3 will yield contemporary architect designed residential apartments and ground floor commercial units in the heart of the Busselton central business district.  The City of Busselton development approval of the 7 storey mixed use development will coincide with the anticipated approval of planning amendment one to the City of Busselton Local Planning Scheme No. 21 – which is currently being considered by the WA Planning Minister Ms Donna Faragher.  The Minister’’s approval is anticipated to occur some time between November 2016 to June 2017.  Following development approval, the 7 storey mixed use development will be tendered to local builders.

The 1026 sqm mixed use development site is a two minute walk to the beach and two minute walk to the café strip along Queen Street and situated adjacent to green open space.  Interested parties who purchase one of the 34 residential apartments off the plan will enjoy architect designed residential apartments which feature north facing living spaces, large balconies for summer barbeques, maximised oceans views, secure lower ground floor car parking and be able to exercise with their pets in green open space adjacent to the 7 storey mixed use development.   Professional services businesses who purchase ground floor commercial units off the plan will be able to fit out each tenancy to their own specific requirements.

Interested parties are invited to contact Architect Stuart Threadgold in order to register their interest with the developer for units off the plan – benefit from this unique investment opportunity.
