Busselton house design for a builder seeking a south west sea change.
This architect created Busselton house design for a registered builder seeking a south west sea change ‘to live the dream’. Threadgold Architecture created a thermally efficient passive house that achieves a modest three bedroom residence. The architectural design incorporates 188sqm/2,023 sqft of sun drenched ground floor living area and 32sqm/344 sqft of alfresco and terrace. The architectural layout ensures the residence has optimal performance as a passive solar house design.
The Busselton house design maximizes the constricted site and is ideal for short term stay accommodation. The architectural design creates efficient planning and utilizes a cost effective patented prefab footing system. The Busselton house design strategically locates the generous open plan living areas for access to winter sun. The internal living and external alfresco are separated by large 2400mm/8 feet high clear anodized end-sliding doors. The architectural layout’s living spaces access the winter sun aspect for excellent performance as a passive solar designed residence. The sundrenched living space spills out onto the alfresco and embodies indoor-outdoor living and the south-west summer lifestyle.
The architectural layout is built on a modest budget using a patented prefab footing system but still incorporates other sound eco concepts. Architectural elements such as solar hot water, wood fuel firebox and wood boosting validate this passive house’s green credentials. Visitors to the passive house are greeted with a large 2400mm/8 feet high double glazed timber pivot door. and are only then ushered into the passive house’s open plan living areas. The architect designed kitchen incorporates the latest Arte Domus porcelain panel selections with a 1200mm/4 feet wide kitchen island bench. The kitchen island bench focal point of the space and maximizes interface between the kitchen hub and adjacent living area.
The architectural design features kitchen perimeter benchtops in the passive solar house design. The specification boasts the latest porcelain panel selections, colour backed glass and Blum Adventos lift cupboards above benchtop slot window. The architectural design material palette also includes clear anodized window frames, porcelain panel kitchen benchtops, Arte Domus tiles, Australian hardwood internal timber flooring and Sikkens paint finish decking. The wall cladding material finishes for this Busselton house design combine horizontally formatted James Hardie Scyon Linea weatherboard and vertically grooved Scyon Axon cladding, for a higher BAL rating, and to ensure the passive house met the tight project budget.
