In response, the architectural design was sited between the ocean and a remnant grove of natural vegetation. Preserving the natural vegetation screen satisfied the policy to meliorate the impacts of building bulk from roads. The flat roof complies with height restrictions; maximizing unrivalled oceans views of the lapping oceanfront shoreline over the infinity edge pool.
The pilotis perch the residence above the undulating coastal dunes to preserve the remnant vegetation and facilitate fauna foraging environments. The living platform overlooks a lap pool situated between bedrooms and the lapping shores of the Indian Ocean. Occupants enjoy sunsets over the ocean framed by the azure blue tiled infinity edge pool without interruption from balustrading. All open-plan bedroom and living spaces spill out onto an alfresco balcony with breathtaking 180 degree ocean views.
The oceanfront eco house design overlooks the native coastal dunes and enjoy direct beach foreshore reserve access in the heart of the holiday heartland. Rammed limestone walls, polished concrete floors and solar blinds frame clean contemporary living spaces which feature Gaggenau and subzero appliances.
The architectural design achieves high energy efficiency ratings by utilizing low E glass for 3 metre high fenestration. The residence utilizes green technologies such as photovoltaic electricity generation, rainwater harvesting, UV filtered potable water storage and desalination plant.
